May 27, 1952 Retired Married 2 Edwin Brown, Jessie Hill, John Tuck, Redmond High School Yes No
After high school, I attended business school in Salem and started working as a secretary for various state agencies.  I moved to Albany and worked at OSU for several years, then moved to Eugene and transferred to a job at UO.  Next I moved to Beaverton and later to Hillsboro (where I'm still living) and started working in a department of the Chancellor's Office which later after reorganization we were under PSU.  After 30 years with the State (25+ years with higher education), I retired.  My husband, Lee, and I have traveled to 36 of the states.  Last year we took our motor home (and cat) and spent 2 months in Arizona to try out the "snow-bird” lifestyle, but decided those people were too "old" for us!  I have 2 stepchildren and 5 grandchildren.  My stepson lives in West Virginia and stepdaughter lives in Florida--good reasons for a road trip! Along with traveling, we like to play golf and work in our yard.

September 24, 1952 teacher Married 3 Edwin Brown, Jessie Hill, John Tuck, Mountain View (Corvallis), Redmond High School Yes No

Can it be 40 years already! Oh, yes, I just looked in the mirror and yes it has been 40 years since I crossed that stage and received my high school diploma!

After I graduated from Redmond High, I attended COCC and OSU. Then, in 1972, I married Dave Putnam—we will soon be celebrating our 38th year together!

We have 3 children—all of them are married and working. Our oldest daughter works as a physical therapist in Klamath Falls, our son works in Bend for Pacific Power in Operations Management, and our youngest daughter attends Portland State working on a Masters Degree in Music Education. In February, our oldest daughter presented us with our first grandson! Morgan Ray is adorable! I am glad I have lived long enough to enjoy the joy that grandchildren bring to our lives!

After 18 years as a stay-at-home Mom (which I loved being) and working part-time jobs, I decided to go back to school to earn a Masters in Teaching Elementary Education. I love my work and working with elementary children keeps me young!

Our relaxation hours (!?) have been spent building/developing 80 acres west of Redmond. Three years ago, our youngest daughter asked to be married on our ranch that we first purchased in 1982. Now, our ranch didn’t have anything on it except a well house and a watering trough! Of course, we said “yes”, little did I realize the overwhelming and all consuming task of moving a 2 car garage and creating a 40’ x 60’ barn complete with kitchen and bathrooms! Then, BLM decided to put in a recreational motorcycle path around our 80 acres so that meant that we had to fence the entire 80 acres! This city girl has learned a lot about building and living with a workaholic!!
We still live in Redmond at the corner of 27th and SW Canal, please stop in and visit awhile!
Looking forward to the 40th Reunion and connecting with ‘old’ friends!
See ya’ soon!!

retired Married Tumalo Elementary & Redmond Union HIgh yes no
I left Central Oregon 3 days after graduation, moved to Portland, got a job in the printing & graphics field, I worked in that field for 12 years and retired when we started our family.

I met my husband, Jess, at church and we married in May of 1972. We lived in the Portland area until 1979; we bought property in the Molalla area, we built from the ground up, it was nothing but brush and blackberries.

Our children, Justin, born in 1982 and Jill born in 1984 have grown up here. They attended schools in Colton and both graduated from Colton high school. Both are now married. Justin married in October and  lives in Mulino, near here, so we see he and Elisa frequently.

I have a granddaughter, Jade, almost 4 who now lives in Tucon, AZ with her parents.  They left here when Jade was 3 mos. old, it broke my heart to have my two babies move so far away. Jill's husband, Dustin, (can get confusing) is based in Tucson on the Monthon-Davis Air Force base and has been to Afghanistan twice. We are very proud of him for serving our country.

My husband, Jess, is a Portland Police sergeant and retires in 3 years. We will be moving to Oro Valley, near Tucson when he retires. We have a house there now and have visiting frequently. He is a certified CFII (pilot) and will be teaching at Double Eagle Aviation school when we get down there.

We love it there and can hardly wait. My daughter and her family just happen to be a great big bonus.

December 14, 1951 general contractor Married 3 Alfalfa Grade School; RHS no US Air Force
After RHS, I spent 4 years in the Air Force, from Texas to North Dakota to Alaska and back to Texas.  I met my wife, Marge, in North Dakota.  We were married in 1973 and lived in Laredo, Texas.  After the Air Force we moved back to Central Oregon to be on the family ranch.  Our daughter Heather was born in 1975 and we lived on the ranch until May of 1979.  We moved to Eastern Oregon, living and working at Boulder Park in the Eagle Caps.  I was a guide and wrangler, while Marge cooked and cleaned at the lodge.  We spent the summer, then moved down to Cove Oregon for the winter.  I moved around jobs, from packing hod to working at the auction yard.  We moved back to Redmond in 1980, buying our first house.  In 1982 our son Ty was born.
I have worked several dozen jobs since coming back, from ranching to banking to sales and contracting.  In 1988 we bought my grandma's house on Antler.  She had owned the house for 50 years, and we have now owned it for 22 years.  I have done several remodels, I don't dare finish it, because then we have to move!!  In 1990 we adopted a 13 year old girl, Tammy.
I hunt and fish, play with the three grandkids from Heather, and try to hurt myself doing new projects.  (Check out the bald head and all my scars.)  Marge insisted on a dog 5 years ago and ended up bringing home two springer spaniels.  The saving grace is that both dogs are bird hunting dogs and they mind better than the kids did.
Hope to see everyone at the Class Reunion.  See you there.

September 30 Homemaker Married 2 Monmouth Elementary, OR; Brattain Elem., Springfield OR; Independence Elem., OR; Garfield Elem, Corvallis, OR; Highland View Jr. Corvallis, OR; Corvallis HS; Redmond HS! Yes No
Did anyone expect when we graduated that we would be doing what we are doing now?  Not me!

After graduation, I attended and graduated from OSU with a degree in business.  I worked in that for a year, and then jumped into the computer field.  I married Ron Horres in Bellevue, Washington in 1984.  I "retired" from computers (ha!) when my son, Nicholas was born in 1987.  Daughter Valerie was born in 1990.

I've lived in Alaska, California, and Washington.  Oregon called me back when our children were small, and we've lived in Beaverton since 1991.

When you are a stay-at-home-mom, you get to choose what jobs you do.  Being a volunteer is a wonderful thing, and I've worked in the schools, with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church, and now this reunion thing (!).  I was the mom that was home when my teenagers and a lot of their friends came home after classes, and am happy now that they are all doing well in their lives.

It really doesn't get any better than this, does it?  Oh wait...husband Ron isn't retired yet.  No grandkids, my kids are too young.  Sounds like a lot more fun is coming up!  Can't wait to see you all!

February 25, 1952 Office Manager/Bookkeeper Single Cloverdale, John Tuck, Redmond High School No No
Wow, 40 years sure did fly right by.  I am in Redmond and do enjoy hearing from everyone that we went to school with.

After High School, I attended Business School in Salem and then returned to Central Oregon.  In the early 80's, I moved to Anchorage, Alaska and spent some time working for an engineering firm there.

When the economy in Alaska started a downturn, I came back to Central Oregon and have been here ever since.  While Alaska was wonderful and fun - there is no place like home.  (And yes, I have a little black dog, but his name is not Toto!)

Looking forward to seeing everyone in August and catching up then.
